About

The game, its data and the people behind it

The game

Featuring is a free trivia game you play in your browser, in two categories: music and movies. The idea fits in one sentence: you're given an artist, you name someone who did a feat with them, then a feat of that one, and so on. For movies, it's the same with actors from the same film. Every right answer makes the chain longer. One mistake or thirty seconds without an answer, and the game is over.

Why this game

Among friends, arguments often end the same way: "They did a track together, I'm sure of it." Featuring settles them. It rewards remembering forgotten features, remixes and supporting roles. Knowing the stars helps at first. To go far, you need to know who sang or acted next to them.

Where the data comes from

Tracks and their credited artists come from Deezer; films, series and their casts from TMDB (The Movie Database). Two artists are linked if they're credited on the same track; two actors if they appeared in the same film or series. A database this big is bound to have gaps. A name wrongly refused can be reported at the end of a game: every report is checked by hand.

Four ways to play

Against the computer, on three levels, to beat your personal best. Online, 1 vs 1 against a random opponent, with a rank on the leaderboard. In a private game, with a link to send to a friend, or on a single phone with several players. And in battle royale, with several players, where the last one standing wins.

Free, for real

Every game is free and your first one starts without an account. An account keeps your scores, your daily streak and your rank. You earn gems by playing: when you sign up, every day, on every game and on challenges. They pay for hints and the joker. The shop sells them too, but no purchase is needed to progress, and there are no ads.

Two languages

The game is available in French and English, and two players with different languages can face each other in the same game.

Who's behind it

Featuring is designed and built in France by an independent developer. The publisher's details are in the legal notice.
